Around Jogja "Prambanan Temple"

Prambanan Temple

Prambanan is the ninth century Hindu Temple in Jogjakarta, Indonesia (my current city)..
just 18km from Jogja city..Its the largest Hindu temple in south east Asia..
There are 224 temples in the complex; three towering temples on the central terrace dominate the complex.
The three main shrines, called Trimurti ("three forms"), are dedicated to the three gods: Brahma the Creator, Vishnu the Keeper, and Ciwa the Destroyer.

Those are Brahma Temple in the North, Visnu Temple in the South and the biggest among the three which lies between Brahma and Visnu is Çiwa Temple which soars up to 47 meters high.
These three ancient masterpieces of Hindu architecture are locally referred to as Prambanan Temple or Rorojonggrang Temple.

Rakai Pikatan from Sanjaya Dynasty (Javanese Hindu Noble) began construction of the temples in 856 AD
